Centre-Deux has been present in the south-eastern part of the city for 40 years, and is a local shopping center that brings together local communities. Featuring 70 retailers on three levels and an Auchan hypermarket, the center welcomes 7 million visitors a year to over 33,000 m².
Center Deux was built on the site of an astonishing building in Saint-Étienne. Until 60 years ago, it was the city’s main prison. At the time, it housed a large number of prisoners, including such notables as the anarchist Ravachol (who was guillotined), Liabeuf and even members of the Bonnot gang.
