A project coordinated by Atelier ATHEM, in close collaboration with Christian de Portzamparc, architect of the enclosure.
ATHEM accompanied Paris La Défense Arena from project design through to installation, coordinating all regulatory and technical aspects. Among its special features, the sign, manufactured and installed by ACTIF SIGNAL, was designed to be visible both day and night, in keeping with the brand’s graphic identity. The letters of the logo appear in black until dusk, when Paris La Défense Arena lights up to appear in white.
Reaching a height of over 40 m, the 43 m long (3.8 m high) sign affirms the identity of Europe’s largest multimodal arena in the skyline of western Paris, while creating a new visual landmark for visitors.
